Who doesn’t love baking, or at least the outcome of delicious treats. The 17th May is World Baking Day, created to celebrate the joy that baking brings. From sweet mouth-watering cakes, wholesome breads and more, there are so many delicious goodies you can bake to fill your hearts and your stomachs.
However, if much like us you don’t quite see yourself as a future Nigella Lawson, Mary Berry or Paul Hollywood, there is another way to enjoy World Baking Day. Sit back, relax with that store bought cake and a cuppa tea and watch the pro’s do what they do best.
Our Favourite Baking Shows to Watch
Sugar Rush

Baking can be more than just beige or chocolate coloured cakes, Sugar Rush takes baking to the next level. Bakers take the plunge and take on themed challenges in hopes to win the title. Temperatures rise as participants struggle with time limits, baking disasters and foodie feuds.
Nailed it
We all know that one person who no matter what has a track record of cooking disasters, forgetting ingredients is my personal go to mistake. Participants are asked to re-create edible masterpieces for the chance to win a $10,000 prize. In the words of Netflix themselves, it’s part reality contest, part hot mess. This show is a good laugh and great for all the family.

The Great British Bake Off

We couldn’t leave out the leading cake making show in the UK, The Great British Bake Off. If you fancy a little bit of cake, sweat and tears (of joy and sadness) this show is for you. Seasons have passed with celebrity comedians taking the hot seat as the host, making baking related puns at every opportunity. This is a great show to watch on rainy days and let the time go by.
